SGRY  (Sampurna Gramina Rozgar Yojana)

This is the prime wage employment programme and its objective is to prove sufficient wage employment throughout the year to all categories of needy poor in rural areas who suffer due to seasonal unemployment. SGRY was launched in 2001 as a centrally sponsored scheme on cost sharing basis between centre and state in the ratio of 75: 25 of the cash component while the food grain component is provided free of cost. Provision of food security and creation of rural infrastructure are also the equally important objectives of SGRY. The action plan of projects is prepared and approved by ZP, PS and GP in the ratio of 20: 30: 50 respectively of the total funds. A focused shift in the strategy has been taken up by the state Government for a visible achievement in having all weather internal roads, in providing water bodies for irrigation and multipurpose use during the crisis period and in creating ready market and facility centre for rural products.
